From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.New Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has insisted in his first Premier League programme notes that he will have “no problem” speaking out if any member of the dressing room were to step out of line.
Henderson said ahead of tonight’s game against Bournemouth that he has “worked along some great men and captains” who he has learned from. But he said he had no fears about the size of the challenge of captaincy, in a Premier League season which manager Brendan Rodgers has said tonight will be more challenging than ever.
Henderson wrote in his notes: “If someone was ever stepping out of line I know that, as captain, I might need to say something and would have no problem doing so at the appropriate time, as it’s part of the job. But nothing like that has been required yet and hopefully it won’t be.
“Although I’m captain now and that brings extra responsibilities both off and on the field, I know it guarantees nothing for me. I am fully aware that I still need to be playing well on a consistent basis if I am to stay in the team.”
Rodgers said in his notes that Liverpool, who are seeking a fourth finish and return to Champions League football, would need unprecedented focus.” We are going to need this focus for the entire campaign if we are to achieve the goals we have set ourselves and produce a season that makes the supporters proud.”
Liverpool are unchanged tonight from the side that 1-0 at Stoke City last weekend.
