It was the Leicester striker who won the penalty when he went down from a challenge from Nacho Monreal.
Arsenal protested against the decision, however referee Martin Atkinson appeared to have little doubt that it was a foul and that Leicester deserved a penalty.
Vardy ran at Monreal who planted a foot in an attempted tackle, however the Spaniard didn't make contact with the ball and Vardy went over the Arsenal defender's leg.
The decision appeared to split opinion on Twitter...
However pundits Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher were in agreement that it was a penalty.
"It is a penalty," said former Arsenal striker Henry on Sky Sports. Carragher agreed: "100 per cent penalty".
