Your support makes all the difference. It generally feels like a Jamie Vardy goal can’t go under the radar this season as England fans continue to get excited about the striker’s talents ahead of Euro 2016, although when the Leicester forward scores a wonder goal like last night’s effort, you can forgive fans for getting over-excited.
But it usually takes something special to get a commentator out of his seat – except if it’s Chris Kamara – and something even better for them to completely lose their mind in celebration.
Enter Ian Stringer, the former The Apprentice candidate who currently calls the shots for BBC Leicester to report from the King Power Stadium.
Fans watching Sky Sports will have gotten the quick impression that Vardy had just done something a little bit special, but to fully explain what had just happened, you needed to be listening to Stringer from the moment Vardy unleashed the ferocious half-volley.
“That’s goal of the season! Jamie Vardy, what a finish!
“That is a goal you’d expect a team who are going to win the league to score! Watch it again, Watch it again and watch it again! That is outrageous! The Liverpool players cannot believe it!”
“Jamie Vardy, the goal of your life!”
Listen to Stringer’s brilliant commentary below...
Vardy scored again soon after to secure Leicester a 2-0 victory that gives them a three-point advantage at the top of the Premier League ahead of this weekend’s pivotal trip to Manchester City, where the top two in table will go head-to-head in an encounter that could see Leicester take a giant stride towards the unlikeliest of title successes.
