Your support makes all the difference.Jamie Carragher is so excited ahead on the match between Stoke and Tottenham that he’s using three exclamation marks on Twitter after teasing the possibility of his old partner in crime Gary Neville returning on Monday Night Football.
The former Manchester United defender departed television screens in December when he was appointed Valencia manager, with Neville jumping into the murky world of football management at the deep end as he took control of the fallen Spanish giants.
Neville went on to endure a torturous spell with Valencia though, winning just three matches in 16 La Liga games, and he was sacked at the end of March after just four months in charge.
Neville has stayed silent on his future plans, though Carragher sent Twitter into meltdown when he hinted that his former colleague could be returning for Sky Sports’ coverage of Stoke vs Tottenham.
Carragher posted on his Twitter account: “MNF is back tonight! A man who had a spell in Spain & came back earlier than expected will join us tonight!!”
However, some users refused to take the bait and questioned whether Carragher was hinting at someone else who had recently returned from Spain.
While David Moyes proved a popular choice given he was sacked by Real Sociedad earlier in the season and appeared on Sky’s Goals on Sunday programme upon his return to England, some Twitter users decided to take a more comical approach.
But Carragher wasn’t done there. The former Liverpool defender fanned the flames some more as he confirmed his co-pundit would not be Gary Neville
His latest message opened the possibility of the likes of Thierry Henry, David Beckham, Michael Owen and Steve McManaman joining him, but with the latter two tied down to BT Sport, the options are somewhat limited.
