Your support makes all the difference.The Indian poultry firm set to seal a £46m takeover of Blackburn Rovers yesterday ruled out any lavish spending sprees at the Premier League club.
Anita J Desai, chief executive of Venkateshwara Hatcheries, popularly called Venky's, said the company, which hopes to buy Rovers by the end of November, would stump up just £5m for new players and ruled out big-name buys.
"We won't need to buy expensive players, we can always lease them," Desai said. "We don't expect to be in the top five of the Premier League. We will be happy to be in the top 10 to 12."
Last week Rovers manager Sam Allardyce had welcomed news of a takeover, saying that the club needed investment.
Desai hinted that more funds could be made available later. She was also happy that some companies were already showing interest in shirt sponsorship "as we need to turn around the club".
