Jurgen Klopp had an impressive first day as the new manager of Liverpool.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach, who replaced the sacked Brendan Rodgers on Thursday afternoon, has signed a three-year deal with the club.

Klopp, 48, believes he is capable of ending the Reds' 25-year wait for a Premier League title, saying he feels "confident" of winning the league once if he remains at the club for four years.

The new Liverpool manager also referred to himself as the 'Normal One' when asked about Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

Klopp revealed he was attracted to manage a "special club" even though they have not been so successful in the recent past.

"The intensity of football, how people live for football. It's not a normal, usual club, it's a special club," he said when asked what attracted him to the job.

"I had two very special clubs before and this role is the perfect next step for me."

He added: "I'm a really lucky guy, really looking forward to first training and first match. I had a four-month holiday, everything is perfect.

"Twenty-five years ago (since the last league title) is a long time. History is only the base for us, (we shouldn't) keep the history in our backpack all day.

"I want to see the first step next week and not always compare with other times. This is a great club with big potential. Everything is there. Let's try to start a new way.

"Everything is different - I don't know it all but I'm a pretty good listener."
