Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

We've got the views of season ticket holder Ali Fimister.

But how was it for you? Comment at the bottom of this article and have your say on your team's season.

Who has been your best player this season?

Nicky Butt, by miles.

Who would you be glad to see the back of?

Stephen Carr has underachieved since he’s been here.

What was your best performance?

Off the pitch, getting rid of Mr Anti-football, Sam Allardyce. On the pitch, it has to be Spurs away.

And the worst?

Mr Freddy Shepherd appointing Mr Anti-football Sam Allardyce.

Who have been your toughest opponents?

Sam Allardyce and Man Utd (Always are, they’ve never forgiven us for beating them 5-0)

Best player faced?

Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Funniest/most bizarre moment of the season?

James Milner’s half-cross beating everyone at Sunderland. Mike Ashley wearing black and white.

Your perfect, but realistic signing?

Dean Ashton to replace Mark Viduka, just sign him!!!!

Any reasons to be cheerful going into next season?

Keegan has made us entertaining. With decent signings we could qualify for Europe, with luck we could have a cup run.

Reasons to be gloomy?

None now that Sam has gone.

Who will you support in Euro 2008?

No one.

Overall assessment of your manager?

He came in at a difficult time. We could have gone down if Sam had stayed. The future is bright, the future is Kev.

And overall assessment of your team?

The jury is still out on a number of players. We need to strengthen the central defence (again), we need creativity in midfield and a strong centre forward to replace Viduka after his recent injury.

Marks out of 10?
