Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

We've got the views of lifelong supporter James Orr.

But how was it for you? Comment at the bottom of this article and have your say on your team's season.

Who has been your best player this season?

Emmanuel Adebayor. Has emerged from Thierry Henry’s shadow with 30 goals.

Who would you be glad to see the back of?

Emmanuel Eboué – a petulant waste of talent and Philippe Senderos.

What was your best performance?

2-0 win in Milan. A footballing masterclass against the European Champions.

And the worst?

4-0 against Man United. I have never seen us play with less drive or desire. Shocking.

Who have been your toughest opponents?

Man Utd. Not our best year for results at Old Trafford.

Best player faced?

Didier Drogba.

Funniest/most bizarre moment of the season?

Adebayor’s goal at home to West Ham (How did it go in?!?)

Your perfect, but realistic signing?

Iker Casillas would be nice. I remain unconvinced by Manuel Almunia.

Any reasons to be cheerful going into next season?

The emergence of Theo Walcott over the last quarter of the campaign. We will be a real force.

Reasons to be gloomy?

Mathieu Flamini’s gone, Alex Hleb may join him, will there be an exodus?

Who will you support in Euro 2008?

The Netherlands – at 14/1 great odds!

Overall assessment of your manager?

Arsène kept his faith with a young team but clearly needed to bolster the squad in January, especially in defence.

And overall assessment of your team?

Played amazing football for most of the season, then suffered a monumental collapse. Hopefully this will only serve as a learning curve to the team in the future.
