Arsène Wenger has admitted that the Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has no more than a 30 per cent chance of facing Manchester United in the FA Cup final in Cardiff.
Henry is hoping to return to training next week, giving him just under three weeks to recover full fitness ahead of the final on 21 May. However, the Arsenal manager, is playing down Henry's chances of recovering in time, as he has not played since injuring his groin just before the FA Cup semi-final against Blackburn.
"Thierry is 30-70 for the Cup final," said Wenger. "That's realistic. He's not in training and has not played for three weeks. We are three weeks away from the final and are short of time."
Asked if he had considered sending Henry on his summer holidays, Wenger added: "I would be tempted if he didn't get better in the next week, but he looks as though he is improving every day."
Freddie Ljungberg is rated as having a 50-50 chance of recovering from a hip injury in time to face United. "Freddie will not be available for Monday's game at West Brom or next weekend against Liverpool, so he will be very short as well," added Wenger.
Mathieu Flamini has at least returned from injury to the squad for Monday's game at The Hawthorns, but Gaël Clichy is still injured.
