From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The weekend kicks off early in the Premier League, with Fulham hosting Leeds on Friday night.
A victory for the Cottagers will finally lift them out of the bottom three heading into the final stretch of the season, allowing them to leapfrog Newcastle and pile the pressure onto Steve Bruce’s side ahead of their battle at the bottom with Brighton on Saturday.
Fulham have won two of their last five, but lost to Manchester City last weekend to remain two points from safety. Leeds, meanwhile, drew 0-0 with Chelsea at the weekend to sit in 12th place, but Marcelo Bielsa’s side are now winless in three and have won just one of the last six.
While the season overall is already a success, they won’t want it to end with a whimper and could yet push towards the top half with a strong finish to the campaign. Bielsa has already spoken of his admiration for Scott Parker and knows his side will have a battle on their hands for the points.
