The 60-year-old is said to be in a “comfortable position” and is expected to make a full recovery before returning to his duties with the Welsh club in the coming days.
In a statement on their official website, Swansea revealed that Guidolin has failed to respond fully to medical treatment and has been referred to a respiratory specialist in London.
Alan Curtis, who managed the Swans on an interim basis following the dismissal of Garry Monk earlier in the season, will take charge of first-team affairs until Guidolin is well enough to return.
"The specialist felt the best course of action was for Guidolin to remain in hospital for a few days to receive further treatment," the club said.
Swansea face the Gunners in the Premier League this evening three points clear of the relegation zone while their hosts can close the gap on leaders Leicester City to the same margain.
