Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

"It's a competition we take very seriously," said the veteran striker, who played for the Bees while on loan from Queen's Park Rangers 12 years ago. With that in mind we will be taking the game at Brentford as seriously as any other, it's important that we start well."

The Peruvian striker Ysrael Zuñiga, the midfielder John Eustace and the defender Gary Breen all impressed as substitutes and could now be given the full 90 minutes. The Preston striker Jon Macken is doubtful with hamstring trouble.

Fulham are likely to make several changes as they travel to Chesterfield, with the striker Paul Peschisolido, the midfielder Steve Hayward and the defender Kit Symons in line for rare starts as manager Jean Tigana shuffles his pack.

The Watford goalkeeper Espen Baardsen faces a fitness test on an ankle injury and the striker Heidur Helguson is another doubt ahead of the trip to Notts County, who have a fitness doubt over their goalkeeper Darren Ward.

Birmingham City could be without their new loan signing Gary Charles at Wycombe after he damaged a hamstring at the weekend.

Wimbledon are likely to be without the striker Marcus Gayle for the visit of Wigan to Selhurst Park after he pulled a hamstring in the weekend draw with Wolves.
