Fantasy football scout tips and picks gameweek 7: Harry Kane, Alexandre Lacazette, Richarlison and more
How many of our picks are in your squad?
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Harry Kane
Could it finally be time to invest in Harry Kane? The fixture list certainly suggests so.
While other ‘top six’ sides meet each other over the coming weeks, Tottenham travel to Huddersfield then entertain Cardiff at Wembley.
Kane enjoyed himself last time out against Brighton, scoring from the penalty spot, and his worrying shooting numbers picked up slightly.
Our main problem, however, is that it is near impossible to have both him and Mohamed Salah in a competitive squad. As both show signs of hitting form, it's time for many managers to make a decision.
Alexandre Lacazette
Another emerging option up front can be found on the other side of north London in the form of Alexandre Lacazette.
Though Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was preferred by many in pre-season, Lacazette is slowly establishing himself as Unai Emery’s first-choice central striker.
Watford’s early resilience at the back is set to be tested at the Emirates on Saturday, with Fulham (A), Leicester City (H) and Crystal Palace (A) to come for Arsenal.
Richarlison
Having served his three-match suspension for last month’s sending off at Bournemouth, Richarlison blanked in Everton’s defeat at Arsenal last weekend.
Even so, his return is a welcome one as the shot-happy winger promises to be Marco Silva’s chief attacking outlet over the months ahead.
The visit of defensively-suspect Fulham is exactly the sort of fixture Richarlison requires to rediscover the form that saw him pick up 23 points in the first two gameweeks.
Rui Patricio
Quickly emerging as the go-to budget goalkeeper of choice, Rui Patricio has seen his ownership steadily rise over the last couple of weeks.
The Wolves ‘keeper picked up clean sheets against West Ham and Burnley recently and earned a valuable save point for his work at Old Trafford last time out.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have looked defensively resolute so far and Southampton’s visit to Molineux on Saturday offers hope of another six points for Patricio.
Aymeric Laporte
Despite Pep Guardiola’s reputation for rotation, Aymeric Laporte has played every minute of Manchester City’s league campaign so far.
And though he does not offer the attacking potential of a full-back, the 24-year-old could offer a steady trickle of points if City can keep it tight.
Brighton’s struggles to score on the road are well established and Chris Hughton’s side are unlikely to find much joy at the Etihad on Saturday.
Ones to watch: DeAndre Yedlin, Kieran Trippier, Ryan Fraser, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Raul Jimenez.
