The final weekend is upon us and it is notoriously difficult to predict for fantasy managers. Clubs and players who have something to play for are your best bet.
Where else to begin but the title race, then? Manchester City will become the first Premier League champions to defend their crown in a decade if they beat Brighton.
Sergio Aguero also needs at least a hat-trick to beat Mohamed Salah to the Golden Boot, which would be only the second of his eight season stay at City.
Mohamed Salah
Salah is surely worthy of consideration too, though. He is peaking at just the right time, with five goals in his last five games after overcoming a run of six without scoring.
And last year’s Golden Boot winner is motivated by individual as well as collective honours. It was not long ago that he was openly comparing his season in front of goal with Aguero’s.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have the joint-third best defence on the road this season and will be difficult to break down but tight defences often loosen up on the final weekend.
Luka Milivojevic
Heung-Min Son’s suspension has left many managers searching for alternatives in midfield. How about a Crystal Palace player with the same number of goals this term?
Granted, the majority of Luka Milivojevic’s 12 have come from penalties but Bournemouth’s defence have been generous away from home this year.
Only relegated Huddersfield and Fulham have conceded more than Eddie Howe’s side when on their travels, while Palace have won the second-highest number of spot-kicks.
Nathan Redmond
Huddersfield have proved to be easy prey in fantasy football and, on what will be their final top-flight appearance for at least another year, it makes sense to target them once more.
Jan Siewert’s side travel to Southampton, who secured Premier League safety some weeks back and are playing Nathan Redmond - classified as a midfielder - up front.
Redmond has no goals and just one assist in his last four outings but should find plenty of opportunities to improve on that against one of the division’s weakest defences.
Aymeric Laporte
Back to City, who play a Brighton side that has struggled for goals at the Amex, with just 18 to their name at home since the start of the campaign.
Aymeric Laporte is the most reliable member of Pep Guardiola’s defence, having played every minute of their run-in, and he has chipped in with points along the way.
The Basque centre-half has helped the champions to a run of four successive clean sheets and has helped himself to maximum bonus points in three of those games too.
