From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The penultimate week of the Premier League season brings with it a fantasy ‘double gameweek’ and given how unpredictable the final round of fixtures can be, this weekend provides your best chance of a strong end to the campaign.

Raheem Sterling

Manchester City have a most enticing pair of fixtures - Huddersfield and Brighton at home - and it would be criminal not to begin the weekend without at least a couple of Pep Guardiola’s players.

Gabriel Jesus looks like a must-have up front, given Sergio Aguero’s continued absence. If he does miss some minutes over the next two, he may be replaced by Raheem Sterling in a central, false nine role.

Sterling bagged a hat-trick of assists at West Ham last time out and should produce points again, so long as he does not fall victim to rotation. A final day trip to Southampton looks favourable too.

Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal’s elimination from the Europa League at the hands of Atletico Madrid frees Arsene Wenger to name a first-choice side in these final few league games of his tenure.

With Burnley at home and Leicester away to come, Nacho Monreal and Alexandre Lacazette are suddenly viable options again, but we especially like the look of the modestly-priced and largely overlooked Aaron Ramsey.

Ramsey picked up 12 points from his last outing - the 4-1 win over West Ham - and is only included in 4.4 per cent of squads going into the penultimate weekend. Should you decide to bring him in, another double-digit score would be a significant boost to your rank.

Jordan Ayew

Swansea have it all to do down at the bottom of the table and Carlos Carvalhal’s side face two critical fixtures before the final weekend - first Bournemouth away, then Southampton at home.

Many will be tempted by low-cost defensive options like Mike van der Hoorn or the underrated fantasy asset Lukasz Fabianski, but Jordan Ayew can be brought in for just £5.3m to release some funds from the forward line.

Though the Ghanaian has just seven goals to his name this season, he will be Swansea’s main outlet for their important double-header and their best chance of beating the drop.

Dusan Tadic

Staying at the wrong end of the table, Southampton have renewed hope of avoiding the drop after their 2-1 win over Bournemouth last time out.

Their goals came courtesy of Dusan Tadic, a mid-price midfield option who seems eager to avoid dropping down into the second-tier and is channelling a season of frustration into his performances.

Southampton’s schedule does not make for pleasant reading, with two away games on the trot at Everton and Swansea before a visit from the champions. If Mark Hughes is to steer the south-coast club clear, he will need Tadic firing.

Harry Kane

He is hardly the most esoteric of picks but in a double gameweek it would be remiss to go without Harry Kane, whatever form he is in.

Fears that Kane rushed back from his ankle injury too soon seem to be supported by his sub-par performances of late, but Tottenham’s leading man is still scoring, bagging once against Watford on Monday night.

Kane will be heavily backed by those using their Triple Captain chip this week and whether you should follow suit depends on your rank. Looking to consolidate your position? Give him the armband. Need to make up ground? A City player may be better.

Do not forget Christian Eriksen or Dele Alli, either. Jan Vertonghen and Ben Davies are also likely to provide points away to West Bromwich Albion and at home to Newcastle.
