Fantasy football scout tips gameweek 36: Gabriel Jesus, Wilfried Zaha, Ben Davies and more

Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Gabriel Jesus
If last weekend’s win over Swansea is anything to go by, Manchester City are going to have a lot of fun over the final weeks of the season with Pep Guardiola’s first Premier League title already wrapped up.
Given Sergio Aguero’s knee injury, Gabriel Jesus is one of the few City players we can rely on to play in every game of the remainder and though the Brazilian was not firing on all cylinders last weekend, he still came away with a goal.
Ben Davies
Tottenham, like City, have a kind double gameweek on the horizon. First up though, it is Watford at Wembley on Monday night and Javi Gracia’s side are yet to score a league goal away from home since his appointment in January.
Our attentions should therefore be on Tottenham’s defence and Ben Davies is the stand-out candidate there, offering attacking potential alongside a likely clean sheet.
Martin Dubravka
West Bromwich Albion are showing signs of life under Darren Moore but will that be enough to break down a difficult Newcastle defence?
Martin Dubravka has conceded just once in four home appearances since coming into Rafael Benitez’s side in January and is unlikely to be intimidated by the relegation-bound Baggies, who have the top flight’s joint-worst scoring record on the road.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson
As managers begin to shift funds into their forward line ahead of a double gameweek, cheap midfield options will come in handy. At £5.0m, Burnley’s Johann Berg Gudmundsson is modestly-price and barely owned, currently in just 1.7 per cent of squads.
The Icelander has two assists in his last three and welcomes Brighton to Turf Moor this weekend. Chris Hughton’s side struggle to score away from home, so a welcome clean sheet point could be in order too.
Florent Hadergjonaj
Huddersfield are by no means out of the relegation woods yet but they are not far off completing a remarkable survival mission. Three points - or at the very least, a clean sheet - against Everton this weekend would help their cause hugely.
The embattled Sam Allardyce and his Everton side look short on goals and could be shut out at the John Smith’s by a home side desperate for a positive result. Huddersfield full back Florent Hadergjonaj offers attacking threat too. The Swiss international is a good and busy crosser of the ball.
Wilfried Zaha
Again, we’re looking at the wrong end of the table, at teams desperate for points. Crystal Palace must be confident of beating the drop but three points against a Leicester City side already on the beach would do no harm.
The reasonably-priced Wilfried Zaha appears to be approaching full fitness again and though he drew a blank at Watford last weekend, he still has three goals in his last three.
