Fantasy football scout tips gameweek 32: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Marko Arnautovic, Chris Smalling and more

It has become something of a tradition for Arsenal to finish the season with a flourish, even when they have little to play for, and one look at their fixtures between now and mid-May suggests they are likely to do the same again.

Stoke rock up at the Emirates this weekend before Southampton’s visit next and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears a worthwhile option for both. The new recruit cannot play in the Europa League either, so there is little risk of rotation.

West Ham’s meeting with Southampton on Saturday may well be the most important game of their season, given the two clubs’ respective league positions, and though David Moyes’ men are in dire form, they have one player capable of big moments.

Marko Arnautovic is without a goal in three but he is still a fantasy-listed midfielder playing up front and a relatively cheap one at that. The Austrian relished in demolishing a Mark Hughes side once already this season. Could he do the same on Saturday?

One of the unsung heroes of the Premier League season, Jamaal Lascelles is gradually gaining the recognition he deserves for a very good campaign in the heart of Newcastle’s defence.

The visit of Huddersfield to St James’ Park this weekend should not intimidate Lascelles and his team-mates too much - only two other top-flight sides have scored fewer on the road - and the Newcastle captain offers a slight goal threat himself.

Staying in defence, when the league’s best comes up against one of its poorer travelling attacks, clean sheets usually follow. Manchester United should therefore shut out Swansea at Old Trafford this weekend and Chris Smalling offers a cheap and potentially profitable route into their backline.

Not convinced? Smalling has delivered four scores of six points or more in the last eight gameweeks and, crucially, he is likely to have two ‘double gameweeks’ between now and the end of the season. As long as he retains his place, he will be a key player over the course of these final weeks.

Our second Newcastle player of the week is Kenedy, who caught the eye of a few fantasy managers following his January loan move from Chelsea. At a modest price, he threatened to be a useful midfield option and recently came good with two goals against Southampton.

The Brazilian is lively presence out on the left flank and could easily find some joy against Huddersfield, who have conceded an average of two goals a game when playing away from home this year.

Who’s playing West Bromwich Albion this week? That would be Burnley, who will travel to the Hawthorns confident of keeping the top flight’s bottom club out and perhaps stealing a narrow victory.
