Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Felipe Anderson
Gaining popularity by the week, Felipe Anderson has been signed by some 160,000 managers already since the end of gameweek 16.
It is no secret that West Ham’s Christmas fixtures are very favourable indeed and Manuel Pellegrini’s side have form to boot, winning and scoring three in their last three.
Anderson has scored twice and assisted once in that same period and taken more shots than any of his team-mates.
Heung-Min Son
Speaking of high-volume shooters in midfield, Heung Min-Son is cropping up on many a manager’s radar.
Like Anderson, Son scored a spectacular long-range effort last week and chipped in with an assist, bringing 14 points home with him.
The visit of Burnley, the top-flight’s second leakiest defence, promises points and Tottenham’s upcoming fixtures are also enticing.
Javier Hernandez
Back to West Ham, where there are plenty of attacking options if you have already been priced out of moving for Felipe Anderson.
Up front, Javier Hernandez is offering an excellent budget option, having returned three goals in his last three games.
At a time when two premium forwards looks preferable, ‘Chicharito’ can complete an effective three-pronged attack for just £6.4m.
Sead Kolasinac
Clean sheets have been hard to come by for Arsenal. Last week’s against Huddersfield Town was their first for nine games.
Forthcoming dates with some struggling teams bode well, though, and Sead Kolasinac appears to be a sound investment at just £5.0m.
The full-back offers attacking threat down the left flank and bonus potential, having picked up two extra points last time out.
Diogo Jota
Tipped for greatness in pre-season, it has only started to recently come together for mid-price midfielder Diogo Jota.
Jota was pivotal to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ promotion charge and is finally coming to the fore in the Premier League, with two goals in two.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, have conceded 14 goals in their last six games following last week’s 4-0 trouncing by Liverpool.
Honourable mentions: Ben Foster, Christopher Schindler, Robert Snodgrass, Roberto Pereyra, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
