Everton Fan - Matthew Judge
Despite being greeted with a tough run of games, we have made a good start to the 2015/16 season. Saturday’s clash with Chelsea doesn’t see things get any easier on paper, but the mood amongst the squad is strong at the moment and Jose Mourinho’s side haven’t made the start they would have wanted.
Ross Barkley is playing with a lot of maturity at the moment and it was great to see him replicate his impressive club form on the international scene with a goal and an assist apiece against San Marino. He’s the man we are hoping will inspire the team to victory this weekend.
With all of Everton’s natural left-backs currently out on the sidelines, new signing Ramiro Funes Mori could be chucked in for his debut at Goodison Park and I really can’t wait to get a first glimpse of the Argentine in action. A tight 2-1 win for Everton.
Chelsea Fan - Kavan Flavius
This game is an absolute must-win for us as struggling defending champions and anything less would leave Chelsea in an extremely undesirable position. Having won just one game from our last four, the turnaround needs to begin at Goodison Park.
Jose Mourinho will be glad to have the creativity of Oscar back in the squad and Eden Hazard finding his shooting boots during the international break should also provide a boost. The defence is an obvious worry, but with Branislav Ivanovic likely to be benched, let’s hope we manage our first clean sheet of the campaign.
The teams provided a 6-3 thriller in their last meeting at Goodison, with Diego Costa getting on the score sheet twice. He hasn’t had the best start this season , but he will always provide that threat up front and I can see us grinding out a 1-0 victory, but only if Ivanovic is left out and we start with Baba and “Azpi” in the full back positions.
