From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Kevin Mirallas has an opportunity to show why Everton are so desperate to retain his services amid speculation he could leave Goodison Park this month.

The Belgian midfielder, who has been linked with Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, is in the starting line-up for the visit of West Brom.

Ross Barkley is also in the starting XI with Steven Naismith and Romelu Lukaku in attack for the home side.

Defenders Tony Hibbert and Sylvain Distin are returning from injury but whilst the former makes the bench, the latter will play no part in tonight's game.

Saido Berahino starts in attack for the visitors after his court hearing for drink-driving - originally scheduled for Monday - was brought forward.

Meanwhile, Victor Anichebe makes his first Premier League start since December 6 as one of three changes to face his former club.
