Both the Manchester United manager and his star striker have few friends on Merseyside due to their exits from Everton and will likely face a fierce reception from the crowd.
Moyes, Everton manager for 11 years, made four changes, with Alex Buttner, Jonny Evans, Nani and Juan Mata coming into the starting line-up for today's Premier League game.
Marouane Fellaini, who Moyes snatches away from Goodison in a big money deal during the summer, was named on the United bench against his former employers.
Roberto Martinez, the man who succeeded Moyes and who has proved a superb replacement, recalled Steven Naismith and James McCarthy.
