Eden Hazard injury: Chelsea forward 'can't handle the rain' according to Twitter

Sunday afternoon was almost perfect for Chelsea, with an assured 3-0 win over Crystal Palace exactly how they would have wanted to start 2016.

But there was one negative for Guus Hiddink's side - an injury to star player Eden Hazard.

The Belgium international substituted himself just 15 minutes into the storm-hit game at Selhurst Park after appearing to damage his groin when taking an early shot at goal. After showing signs of discomfort, he signalled to the bench and was then replaced by Pedro.

It was not the first time this term that last season's player of the year has taken the decision to come off by himself, which seemed to be the main point of interest for many on Twitter. Some even suggested it was the rain that led to his early withdrawal.
