Tottenham have suffered more injury woe with news that Dele Alli is set to miss at least six weeks of action with a hamstring injury.

The midfielder was injured in Sunday’s game at Fulham, and was scanned on Tuesday. Tottenham confirmed on Tuesday evening Alli “suffered a hamstring strain” and that he is not expected to return to training until early March.

This means Alli and Harry Kane, two of Spurs’ most dangerous players, will both miss all of Spurs’ crunch fixtures in February, including games against Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and most likely Arsenal.

Kane is currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained earlier this month against Manchester United. Tottenham are competing on four fronts, but their chances in the Premier League, Champions League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup will be hit by this news.

Spurs have big games in all four competitions in the next few weeks.

First Tottenham travel to Stamford Bridge on Thursday night for the second leg of their League Cup semi-final against Chelsea. They must defend their 1-0 first-leg lead if they want to reach the final against Manchester City at the end of next month, a game that Kane and Alli would miss even if Spurs get there.

Spurs travel to Crystal Palace for the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday before a busy spell of Premier League fixtures, with Chelsea on 27 February and Arsenal on 2 March. Then there are two legs against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, on 13 February and 5 March.

Kane and Alli will likely miss all of this, leaving Spurs desperately hoping for the swift return of Heung Min Son from the Asian Cup, currently taking place in Abu Dhabi. Until then they are dependent on Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura for striking options.
