Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Daley Blind is enjoying playing alongside his Holland team-mate Memphis Depay at Manchester United, saying that the 20-year-old is a "real personality" who has already settled in well with his new squad at United.
Depay joined from PSV for £25m this summer, and opened his account for United last week in the 3-1 Champions League play-off first-leg win over Club Brugge, in which he scored twice.
Blind, who signed from Ajax last summer, says he has no doubts the 21-year-old will be a huge success in the Premier League.
"He’s settled in very well. You can see he has a lot of talent, he’s very strong and quick and a real personality," Blind told manutd.com. "He dares to show himself which is very positive and he’s a really good guy who gets along with everyone.
On what advice he should give Depay, Blind,25, added:
"Just to enjoy it as much as you can. Of course you’re focused on giving the best performance you can every day in training and in matches, but it’s important not to put yourself under too much pressure and make sure you enjoy moments like when you play at Old Trafford for example. I’m also not sure he needs my advice as he is a real personality! [Laughs] He knows what he can do and has a lot of faith in himself and that’s a good way to be at a club like United."
