The 28-year-old, who used to produce opposition scouting reports for Tuchel when he was in charge of Mainz, has intimate tactical knowledge of the methodologies favoured by the German.
Chelsea appointed the former Paris Saint-Germain boss, who won two league titles, the French Cup and the French League Cup, on an initial 18-month contract after sacking Frank Lampard on Monday.
Five defeats in their past eight league fixtures have left the club ninth in table, while the talents of players like Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner haven’t been fully maximised.
Maric admits there’s no guarantees with any managerial change, especially in the context of such a strange season due to the implications of coronavirus, but feels Tuchel’s style marries well with the league.
“Obviously, you never know how the first steps of the team will go, what the culture is the in the team, adapting to the league and the opposition,” he said on the Between The Lines podcast.
“The first results sometimes are not really in line with the performances, especially not in a season like this where you have a lot of games, a very congested schedule.
“So it's very hard to predict if he will be successful, but just in terms of his abilities, he's a really good coach. He's very knowledgeable about the game, about teaching the game, about creating a playing style.
“He’s very accurate in his ideas and so he communicates them well. He knows what he wants to see on the pitch and knows exactly what he expects from the players.
“With him you see very solid organisation, a lot of movement and just in general, really good actions. And I think that if things to go normally, he will be a really good addition to the Premier League.”
