From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. With the news that Guus Hiddink has been confirmed as Chelsea manager until the end of the season coming just over an hour before kick-off, the post-Mourinho era was well underway despite the Portuguese being sacked on Thursday.
Fabregas comes back into the side at the expense of Ramires, who drops to the bench, while Eden Hazard is ruled out with the hip injury that forced him off at the King Power Stadium, meaning Pedro comes back into the side with Bertrand Traore promoted to the substitutes’ bench.
Sunderland will hope to end back-to-back losses with manager Sam Allardyce recalling fit-again Jermain Defoe in attack. He joins Younes Kaboul and Jack Rodwell in returning to the side, with DeAndre Yedlin, Fabio Borini and Steven Fletcher all dropping to the bench.
