From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. We’re used to seeing Jurgen Klopp smiling with that dazzling and almost-too-big-for-his-mouth goofy grin but the new Liverpool manager also has a fiery side.
It was on full display during the second half of his side’s trip to Stamford Bridge when Klopp decided to respond to some criticism from the stands.
José Morais, a member of Chelsea’s backroom staff sat immediately behind the dugout, decided to take umbrage with Klopp’s protests to fourth official Lee Mason.
Klopp, undeterred by Morais’ shouting, gave some right back, reportedly telling the 50-year-old coach to ‘take a time out’.
Earlier this week, Klopp called Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho a “nice guy” despite his touchline antics causing much controversy in recent weeks.
Perhaps this incident is proof you can be a very happy, smiley football manager and still keep a bit of fire in the belly.
