Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Chelsea Fan - Kavan Flavius
We got our first home win of the season on Wednesday against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Champions League and we can carry that momentum into Saturday’s game against Arsenal. Hopefully they will still be coming to terms with their surprise loss to Dinamo Zagreb.
Chelsea really need to string a few wins together though and with both right wingers Willian and Pedro ruled out its going to be difficult. On the bright side, Oscar is back in the team and played well on Wednesday night and he could be the key player on Saturday.
Mourinho will try his utmost to ensure that Wenger doesn’t beat him again, having already lost out to the Frenchman in the Community Shield, but I believe that given our start to the season the points will be shared. I’m going for 2-2.
Arsenal Fan - Lewis Potton
After watching Arsenal perform dismally against Dinamo Zagreb in midweek, it has made me really fearful about the weekend trip to Stamford Bridge. Despite our strong win against Stoke last week and Arsene Wenger resting a few key players for the Zagreb game, the likes of Giroud, Cazorla, Arteta and Oxlade-Chamberlain were really poor in Croatia. The passing was far too slow from the outset, and defensively we looked far too open. An openness that Chelsea will exploit.
Despite Chelsea's own poor league form, I expect them to be right on their game against us. They won 4-0 in midweek and there is no way Mourinho will allow them to repeat their Manchester City debacle from a few weeks ago.
I’m convinced that Theo Walcott will be the key man for us as Chelsea have really struggled against pace in behind their back four this season. A draw at the Bridge would be an amazing result, so I optimistically predict a scoreline of 1-1.
