So it came as little surprise that as Chelsea celebrated their Premier League title triumph with an open-top bus parade through the streets of west London, many took to social media to mock them.
The parade, which weaved its way through Fulham, saw Chelsea fans arrive with plenty of celery in a sign that one of the stranger traditions in football won't be disappearing any time soon. Before the bus even started moving, fans were throwing the vegetable at a Sky News reporter, and once the wheels on the bus were revolving, striker Diego Costa got involved by mercilessly chucking celery at fans lining the streets.
Chelsea, who were accused of being a boring side during the second half of the campaign in which they romped to the title, began the day by poking fun at themselves...
Then everyone else began...
But whatever the critics say, at least it went better for Chelsea than it did for Bristol Rovers.
