Chelsea transfer target Sergio Aguero has said he is prepared to leave Atletico Madrid.

The Argentine international has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and it is understood Chelsea will make a bid for the 21-year-old in January.

The striker has said he wants to see out the season at Atletico before any move.

Aguero was quoted as saying: "I've always told the club that from now until June I'll stay here. Then we will see what they do. If in June the club still needs money, there are ways to help.

"This is my home, but if the club have to sell me, I must go. I know nothing. Now I need to concentrate on getting us into Europe."

Aguero's desire to stay for the season could conflict with Chelsea's plans.

Carlo Ancelotti is eager to boost his ranks in January with key players leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations and the possibility of a transfer ban being imposed in the summer.

Aguero has a £45m buy-out clause although Chelsea are understood to value the striker closer to £40m.
