From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Frank Lampard says that Chelsea must keep the faith with manager Jose Mourinho, despite the Premier League champions now being just one point above the relegation zone after their 2-1 defeat at league-leaders Leicester City last night.

"We've been here before at Chelsea where managers change in the middle of the season," Chelsea's all-time leading scorer told Sky Sports while working as a pundit on the game.

"I don't know how many times you can do that.

"What they set out to do when they brought Jose back was a long-term plan. What can they gain by getting rid of him now?

"They're not going to get top four or top six, if we're honest, so I'm sure there's a view that says to Roman Abramovich that they should see what happens at the end of the season.

"Why make a rash change now that can't affect the year? Let's see where we are at the end of the season."
