Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could be missing up to five first-team players when his team travel to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Star striker Diego Costa is definitely missing for this game - and the one against Everton - after being banned for three games for the stamp on Liverpool defender Emre Can; Loic Remy is likely to start after his impressive performance against Manchester City last week.

Of greater concern to Mourinho is the trio of midfielder's who could be missing for the trip to Villa Park.

Cesc Fabregas missed the draw with City and is facing a race to recover from the hamstring injury he suffered against Liverpool, the Spaniard could miss this game and the Everton match.

John Obi Mikel is still struggling with a head injury he suffered in the shock FA Cup defeat to Bradford City, while Willian was forced off against City.

Ramires will likely fill in alongside Nemanja Matic if Fabregas is not deemed fit, while Willian's absence could pave the way for new £26.1million signing Juan Cuadrado to start if Willian is not able to play.

Filipe Luis is still struggling with a calf problem, but Chelsea have plenty of cover with Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta both fit.
