An Olivier Giroud header proved to be the difference at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea recorded a vital victory over Champions League finalists Liverpool.

The Blues looked much more like the side that stormed to the title last season, offering a resilient rearguard while boasting a potency up front, spearheaded by a fantastic Eden Hazard, who turned in a fine display, hinting at how good he could be if he played at the same level every week.

The win was Chelsea's fourth in a row in all competitions, and after Tottenham's defeat by West Brom on Saturday, leaves them two points off the top four.

Liverpool meanwhile lacked the flair and firepower that we have become accustomed to witnessing this season, and star man Mo Salah was kept quiet by an impressive Chelsea defence.

But who impressed at Stamford Bridge? Find out in our gallery above.
