From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Chelsea and adidas have today released their new royal blue home kit for the 2015/16 season.

The shirt, the first that will feature the Yokohoma Tyres logo after the club announced their £200million, five-year deal in February, will be seen on the first-team when the club play in their pre-season friendly against the New York Red Bulls on 25 July.

The kit will be formally revealed ahead of that game at a formal presentation in Harlem, New York, on 21 July.

The adidas-made kit incorporates red trim for the first time in five years and takes inspiration from the extremely popular Le Coq Sportif kits of the 1980s.

Not only does the red trim bear similarities, there is a return to the pinstripe look that made that shirt a fans' favourite. The kit also features blue shorts and white socks, both with white trim, and a buttoned collar.

The marketing campaign features the slogan 'if it's not blue, it will be', apparently the "campaign focuses on the players’ determination to dominate domestic and European football", reads the blurb.

The kit is available to order at the Chelsea megastore.
