Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Cesc Fabregas has said that he will always "love" Arsenal.
The Chelsea midfielder will face the Gunners at Wembley Stadium in the Community Shield on Sunday.
The 28-year-old spent eight years with the north London club before his move to Barcelona in 2011.
He only won one trophy - the FA Cup in 2005 - with Arsenal, before his transfer to Barca. He joined Chelsea for £30m last summer, and was an integral part of the Blues' squad to win the Premier League last term, making 18 assists.
"Whatever it is, it is. The love I have for that club will never change whatever happens and what is the most important is what I have with me are the memories," he told reporters.
"The rest doesn’t matter. I have great memories, love and respect for the club. You will never hear anything bad from me about them."
On the Community Shield, Fabregas said: 'It's not the most important game but we want to win and compete. It is a big game, a London derby at Wembley in front of all the fans. It's a nice competition to play in and even if it is a pre-season game you still want to win."
