From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Louis van Gaal will hand Angel Di Maria his Manchester United debut at Turf Moor.

The Dutch coach will persist with his 3-5-2 formation, with Di Maria replacing Tom Cleverley in centre-midfield.

Van Gaal makes just one other change to the team that drew with Sunderland last week, Jonny Evans replacing injured centre-back Chris Smalling - Tyler Blackett keeps his place in the team with Marcos Rojo unavailable to play as he still doesn't have a work permit.

Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck are named among the substitutes despite being linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Sean Dyche's Burnley may have lost both of their opening matches but the manager is persisting with the same starting XI for the third match in a row.

LINE-UPS:

Burnley: Heaton, Trippier, Duff, Shackell, Mee, Arfield, Jones, Marney, Taylor, Ings, Jutkiewicz.

Subs: Gilks, Ward, Reid, Long, Wallace, Sordell, Barnes.

Manchester United: De Gea, Jones, Evans, Blackett, Valencia, Young, Fletcher, Di Maria, Mata, Rooney, Van Persie.

Subs: Januzaj, Hernandez, Welbeck, James, M. Keane, Anderson, Amos.
