Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

They started the season in scintillating form, but Bournemouth have since slumped back into mid table after just three wins in 2019. While the Cherries are on the slide, Newcastle have gained crucial points recently, making the gap between themselves and the bottom three look a little less precarious.

Rafa Benitez’s side have taken 10 points from their last five games, including last week’s inspired comeback against Everton. They are now 13th in the table (one place off Bournemouth) and six points adrift of Cardiff in 18th.

With all of the off-field debate and lack of funds, Benitez is getting closer and closer to performing another miracle on Tyneside.

What time does it start?

Bournemouth vs Newcastle starts at 15:00 on Saturday 16 March.

Where can I watch it?

The game won’t be broadcast live, but you can follow the action on IndySport’s live blog.

Player to watch:

Ayoze Perez. The Spaniard hasn’t been prolific this season, but last week he showed his worth with a brace to secure three point for his side late on against Everton. If he can produce that form again, the Magpies will be on the brink of safety.
