Boa Morte mends fences to sign new deal

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Boa Morte, 32, had seemed on his way out of Upton Park after comments he made to Match of the Day following a 1-1 draw with Manchester City. The former Arsenal and Fulham player had scored on his comeback to the West Ham side after a year recovering from knee ligament damage.
He said: "Mr Sullivan should have a bit more composure when he talks and when he goes to the press to hammer the players. He should be a bit more steady. The fact you have the money, it doesn't mean you can do whatever you want."
Boa Morte, a former Portuguese international, phoned Sullivan to apologise, and has been rewarded with another two-year contract. Yesterday Boa Morte said: "I am delighted to sign the contract and can't wait to get started. The new manager, Avram Grant, is going to play an attacking style and I hope to get involved in that. I did have offers from other people but I wanted to stay here."
Arsenal look to have won the race to sign the highly rated Dutch teenager Kyle Ebecilio. The 16-year-old is contracted to Feyenoord but will join Arsenal on 1 July after the north London side beat off competition from Chelsea. Arsenal will have to pay Feyenoord compensation, of around £500,000, only for Ebecilio's training costs.
