The Blackburn Rovers striker David Goodwillie pleaded not guilty – by letter – to assault yesterday at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Goodwillie, a Scotland international, is accused of repeatedly punching and kicking John Friel in the Queen Street area of the city in November of last year.
