The defender joins Rovers on a free transfer, signing a three-year deal with the option of a further 12 months following a trial with Steve Kean's Lancashire side.
Bruno, 28, has been working with Rovers for much of the summer and travelled to the club's pre-season camp in Austria as well as playing in pre-season games.
Blackburn have confirmed he could be in the squad to face Wolves in tomorrow's Barclays Premier League opener.
