Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Blackburn's owners Venky's admit they are worried about the threat of relegation but remain positive the club will survive in the Barclays Premier League.
Rovers' last win in the league came on January 23, when they were seventh in the table and nine points above the drop zone.
Since then they have take just two points from six matches and although they sit 13th, they are only a point above the bottom three.
They still have to face the likes of Arsenal - on Saturday - Manchester United and Manchester City in their remaining eight matches but co-owner Venkatesh Rao remains optimistic.
"Of course we are worried but we have to play well and get together as a team, and we have to get out of the situation," he told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"You have to win sometimes and you have to lose sometimes, but we have to come out of this situation, that's very sure.
"But we are always positive and we will be positive.
"We are absolutely committed to the club and that won't be changing any day."
Venky's search for a new chairman to replace John Williams, who left the club in February, continues despite speculation over a number of candidates.
"We are looking at it but there is nothing thus far, this is also speculation," added Rao.
