Arsenal will speak with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after a video of the Gabonese striker getting a tattoo surfaced on Instagram.

Tattoo artist Alejandro Nicolas Bernal posted a social media clip on 9 February and in it the striker is seen to get a new tattoo on his hand.

It is unclear when the incident took place and if there has been a breach of coronavirus rules given Bernal could be part of Aumabeyang’s bubble.

An Arsenal spokesperson told the PA news agency: “We will speak to the player to remind him of his responsibilities and establish what has taken place.”

The 31-year-old was allowed to leave the Gunners’ coronavirus-secure bubble in January to tend to his mother who was going through some health issues.

Aubameyang scored a hat-trick for the Gunners in a 4-2 win against Leeds on Sunday in his first start for a month.

And Mikel Arteta lauded the triker’s influence

“I thought he was superb today, he has been training really good the last week or so, he looked back to normal,” he said.

“He looked really committed in training, really hungry and today he had a great performance, not only for the goals but the way he worked without the ball and the way he worked every Leeds defender, he set the tone.

“We know that a big part of our future success is related to Auba being at his best and scoring as many goals as possible.

“If he is in that type of form we are going to be closer to winning football matches, that is for sure - we cannot just rely on him but he is a big piece of our puzzle and you saw today that when he is firing he is a difficult player to play against.”
