Such is the reliance on the Chile international at the moment, it seems that is Sanchez doesn’t score, Arsenal don’t win. Of course, that’s not strictly the case, but a look at Twitter would suggest otherwise as his goal sparked a host memes and jokes based around Sanchez carrying the team.
Having sent the Emirates crowd into jubilation, Sanchez celebrated scoring his ninth Premier League goal this season - and his 14th in all competitions - which easily sees him out on his own as the Gunners top-scorer. Danny Welbeck, having joined the north London club in the summer from Manchester United, is next up with kust three league goals and six in total.
Unsurprisingly, Sanchez was immediately given the full meme treatment, and some of them are simply hilarious – and worryingly accurate.
Sanchez was also awarded with the PFA Fans' Player of the Month award for October just before kick-off, but notorious prankster Lukas Podolski utilised the presentation to photobomb his team-mate's special moment.
Not that Wenger will mind about Sanchez's form having spent £35m on the former Barcelona forward in the summer. He'll just hope that some of the other players start to come tot he Sanchez party.
