Arsenal are continuing to search for a replacement for transfer fixer Dick Law, and have spoken to multiple candidates including former winger Marc Overmars and Barcelona's Raul Sanllehi.

The highly-regarded Law has long performed many of the administrative functions expected of a sporting director, and is well-connected with agents and senior club executives across Europe. But after a frustrating summer, Law stepped down from his role and is understood to be planning to return to America.

While Arsene Wenger largely controls the sporting direction of the club, Law was a key cog in Arsenal's machine and how they replace him will likely also shape who follows Wenger as the club's manager.

Overmars, currently sporting director at Ajax and a former Wenger player, is one candidate and is interested in the role but newspaper reports in Catalonia on Wednesday claimed Barca director, and former Nike executive, Raul Sanllehi will take over from Law.

Sanllehi has performed a similar role to Law at the Nou Camp since 2008, responsible for negotiating and closing deals including that of Neymar from Santos.

But after nearly ten years in the hot seat, he is understood to want to take time over his next step amid interest from a number of top European clubs.

Manchester City and the City Football Group, headed up by former Sanllehi colleagues Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano, are also understood to be interested in hiring Sanllehi when he leaves Barcelona on December 1st.

The 48-year-old's responsibilities will largely be absorbed by Pep Segura in his new role as general manager of Barcelona.
