From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Arsenal thrashed Bournemouth 5-1 at the Emirates last night to retain their place in the top four and close the gap to north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to four points.

Unai Emery’s team selection raised some eyebrows, with Mesut Ozil and Carl Jenkinson both selected to start, but Arsenal were superb and made light work of Bournemouth, who have now lost eight consecutive away matches in the Premier League.

Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored the first two goals before Lys Mousset pulled one back for Bournemouth — only for Laurent Koscielny, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette to seal a morale-boosting win with second-half strikes.

Both Ozil and Mkhitaryan were particularly impressive, although it remains to be seen whether the duo are picked to start Saturday’s pivotal derby against Spurs.

But how does last night’s big win change our Arsenal power rankings? We have rated every Arsenal players 2018/19 campaign out of 10, updating the rankings after every match to track who is impressing and who is failing to live up to expectations.

The Arsenal 2018/19 squad power rankings are updated after every game as we keep track of who is in and out of form.
