Henrikh Mkhitaryan has said he is excited to link up with “assist king” Mesut Ozil following his switch to Arsenal earlier this week.

The Armenian is set to make his Arsenal debut against Swansea on Tuesday of next week, having been cup-tied for the side’s 2-1 semi-final League Cup win over Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Speaking to Arsenal Player, Mkhitaryan said he was looking forward to joining up with the likes of Ozil and co. at the Emirates.

“Here at Arsenal I know that lots of players move a lot and it’s incredible the way [the team] plays. I will do my best to assist them as well,” he said.

“I think it will be really fun to play alongside Ozil. Everyone knows he’s a fantastic player, he’s an assist king! I look forward to it.

“[I admire] his intelligence, the way that he can understand the game, reads the game, plus the way he gives pace to the game and of course his final decision.”

Ozil has provided six assists and scored four goals this season for Arsenal, having rediscovered his creative form in recent months.

Arsenal are also looking to add Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to their ranks this January as they bid to strengthen for the second half of the season and push for a top-four position.
