Arsenal playmaker Alexis Sanchez has revealed that he cannot sleep if he does not score.

The Chile ace has been far from his prolific best this season, although much of that has been down to injuries. Last season he struck 25 goals in 52 games in all competitions, this season he has scored 11 in 30.

The 27-year-old, however, was on hand to score his first Premier League goal since October on Saturday in Arsenal's 2-2 draw with rivals Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Sanchez has said that when he doesn't score he can't get any rest, as he is constantly thinking about how to get back on the scoresheet.

"I always want to improve and give my absolute all to the team,” he said.

“The truth is that I do enjoy [the responsibility]. When I don't score goals I feel like I've failed the team and I feel guilty.

“I go home, can't sleep and I just think I have to play better.”

The Gunners are next in action against Watford in the FA Cup on Sunday.
