From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Jose Mourinho knows his Chelsea side are far from the finished article but a first Premier League away win of the season at Norwich today, before the international break, would be another step in the right direction.

The Blues responded to successive defeats to Everton and Basle by beating Fulham and Swindon, drawing at Tottenham and winning at Steaua Bucharest.

Chelsea's coach said: "We have a lot to improve, we have a lot to work on. We will have moments of ups and downs, because teams of this profile, with young people, with some people that are not mature, the normal tendency is that performances are not always very stable. I'm ready for that."

Chelsea play at home to Cardiff and Manchester City, either side of a Champions' League match at Schalke, following the international break and Mourinho said: "If we can win now, 15 days without football it will be a period to reflect, to analyse and to prepare for what is coming."

He speaks highly of his Norwich counterpart Chris Hughton, the investment made in recruiting the likes of Ricky van Wolfswinkel from Sporting Lisbon and insisted Chelsea would not underestimate the Canaries.

Mourinho added: "They made a great investment this season. They had money to spend, they spent it. They brought in good players, players with a future, not just the next couple of years. The squad is very good.

"The manager in my opinion is good too. I like the way he coaches. I like the way he organises his teams, always a good mentality, always well organised."

Norwich City v Chelsea is on Sky Sports 1 today, kick-off 1.30pm
