Manager Iain Dowie does not believe the club will generate large amounts of money from a player sales. "With respect to George [Boateng], Kevin Kilbane and Andy Dawson," he said. "They're not going to get big money for them."

Man City

Goalkeeper Shay Given could return for the start of next season after undergoing shoulder surgery. A statement said surgery "went well" and that the 34-year-old "should begin rehabilitation soon." He picked up the injury at Arsenal last weekend.

Hearts

Laryea Kingston has dismissed claims from former Ghanaian FA head Nyaho Tamakloe that he has lied over his age. "I don't know where he got it," the midfielder, 29, said. "If he thinks I'm lying he should come and show the proof, that I'm 42 or whatever."

Manchester Utd

Borussia Dortmund managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke has warned the club away from a move for the Serbia defender Neven Subotic. "If they want him," Watzke said. "They have to sign over two oilfields."

Birmingham

Defender Stephen Carr has received a one-match ban after accepting an FA charge of improper conduct relating to last weekend's defeat at Aston Villa. The 33-year-old will miss tomorrow's visit of Burnley. The incident is also being investigated by local police.

Sunderland

Fraizer Campbell has promised Manchester United a tough match when his former side visit the North-east on Sunday. "We've tended to do well against top teams," the striker said. "We are at home and our home form this season has been really good."
