The club's future has been secured for a further season after shareholders backed Lord Ashcroft's £7.5m rights issue. "This gives the club breathing space," read a statement. "And means no drastic decisions have to be made. It cleans up the balance sheet."
Sheffield Utd
Goalkeeper Paddy Kenny has promised to repay the faith displayed in him by the management at Bramall Lane following his return from a nine-month drugs ban. "I owe the club my career," the 31 year-old Irishman said. "Everybody has stood by me and I can't repay them enough."
